SANY introduced a brand new crawler crane model SCC550TB to its current crane fleet this year. The new 55-ton crane machine is equipped with a telescopic crawler that can travel with load, and a telescopic boom, perfectly combining the advantages of crawler crane and mobile crane.
The most obvious feature of SCC550TB, compared to SANY’s other crawler crane models, is its boom system. Instead of using a lattice structure boom, SCC550TB adopts a five-section U-shaped boom with 11.3m basic boom, fully extended boom length of 42m, a two-section jib of 7.4m and 5.6m, and the maximum lifting capacity of boom is 37tx4.5m.
Besides, the main and auxiliary hoisting mechanism of SCC550TB adopt a winch drum directly driven by winch motor through reducer and be able to rotate into two directions by a luffing handle. The telescopic boom enables the crawler crane to match the different requirements on the worksites.
Each track frames of SCC550TB has an independent traveling drive. The traveling motor enables the 55t crane machine to travel and turn independently through drive wheel and reducer. At the same time, the crawler frame can be expanded and retracted through cylinder, and crawler tension is also adjustable.
Moreover, counterweight blocks can be assembled and disassembled by the crawler crane itself; therefore, quick transportation can be assured. The maximum transportation width of whole machine is 3.36m, and the maximum single transport weight is only 37t when excluding jib and auxiliary winch. When the crawler crane travels on hard and level ground unloaded, the traveling speed is 2.1km per hour.
Safety devices are indispensable. SCC550TB crawler crane is equipped with intelligent control and monitoring system to ensure a safe and reliable operation, including many safety devices such as load moment limiter free of calibration, switch between operation and installation modes, emergency stop button, main and auxiliary winches with height limiter, slewing locks and so on.
